Going Green

In efforts to help our environment, Fibergrate...

Replaced all (4) gas fired curing ovens with infrared ovens. The infrared ovens are virtually emission free. The infrared ovens are automatically site operated (only “ON”) when product is indicated.

Reduced styrene emissions by adding suppressants to the resin mixes and implemented several innovative pollution prevention practices for reducing emissions in the blending and application processes.

Modified polyester resin formulations to incorporate higher solids to reduce emissions up to 10%.

Eliminated the use of acetone.

Implemented a solid waste recycling program that reduced solid waste generation by 30%.

Pollution Prevention Plan

As a result of our recycling efforts, 41.95 tons of recyclable materials were kept out of landfills in 2007.

Recycled materials included cardboard, mixed iron, brass and aluminum. 381 gallons of used oil was also recycled.

From January to October of 2008, we have recycled over 95 tons of material!

Adopt a Highway

Annually, Fibergrate participates in the Adopt a Highway program. Stephenville employees clean up trash along a 2 mile stretch of Highway 67, outside of Stephenville, Texas. These efforts help promote a cleaner Texas.
